Scrappers Give Thanks

Came across this website today - what a wonderful idea! Not only that but they also give away prizes. Basically they ask volunteers to design a 4x6 scrapbook page/card, and then they give those cards to children in hospitals. Maybe I am just feeling a little more emotional than usual but it brought tears to my eyes! So often we take for granted the health of our children and families, but it is really something we should be thankful for everyday. So now I'm off to make some cards and hope you will too!

Saturday

So many things I should be doing this Saturday - but instead I decided to try out my new AE brushes I downloaded @ Designer Digitals (I am in love, can you tell??) and get a few pages done

(this "love you" brush you can download for free HERE)
I have also been experimenting with some "actions" that I downloaded from The Pioneer Woman blog (she also has a very yummy pancake recipe that I love!!). In the first page above, I used an action called "Seventies" -- isn't it neat???

where has august gone???

yikes i cant believe it is already the last weekend in august! Summer is officially coming to an end, unfortuanately! Our family blog has been very neglected this month - I had *big plans* (really I did) to upload a bunch of pictures and do a super big post but I havent even put pictures onto my computer from my camera yet.

Today Mason had his pulmonologist appointment that took 3 hours; Mason was such a trooper! First we met with the doctor, then they did a bunch of little pokes on his back, then we had to go to get a chest x-ray, then back to meet with the doctor, THEN went to get a vial of blood drawn. I thought for sure he was going to sleep (or cry) the whole way home but he didn't! Our dr. today told me that we HAD to get rid of Jefferson. He was actually quite irritated that we hadn't already gotten rid of him when we first found out he was allergic, but his primary doctor told us we didnt have to.

The house is quiet; Mason went to bed and Bobby is @ a fantasy football draft. Last night I had a girls night out and came home with a new purse among other things (bobby was almost as excited as me about the new purse to add to my collection!) as we did an exchange of our odds/ends - kind of like a rummage sale but we just all contributed and then took turns taking what we wanted/picked out for eachother. It was so much fun, thanks Katrina!

Last weekend had my scrapbooking weekend @ "A Friend's Getaway" in Dent, MN. GREAT place!! Believe it or not I used up ALL of my pictures in my picture box. Of course most of them went in a 4x6 album and I havent developed any pictures since Christmas (!!!!!) but I really wanted to get "caught up." My scrapping month-by-month digitally has really taken the "stress" out of wanting to stay caught up.

I am also VERY pumped to "re-start" my metal stamping - I finally found a place (online, after searching all over the place in Grand Forks) that sold small quantities of metal discs. They are way smaller than I thought but it is still so much fun! I also am excited to use the new humungous Xyron sticker-maker my grandma gave to me.

I will try to put up some more pictures this weekend :)
